Addressing COVID-19: putting people first

We consider our guests and employees part of the Fridays™ Family, and their welfare and well-being are our top priority. We are doing everything we can to closely track Coronavirus (COVID-19) so that we can continue to serve you while also protecting health and safety.

With that in mind, we want to assure you that, as always, we are operating under our already established high standards and closely following recommended protocol in our restaurants. Our standards exist precisely for this reason and are even more important in the current environment.

What We’re Doing: 4 Key Actions

  1. Using this opportunity to further educate our teams on how to maintain industry-leading operational standards through continual cleaning and sanitization. We have upgraded existing cleaning supplies based on guidance from the CDC to ensure proper disinfection and have provided staff with necessary tracking and verification tools to confirm compliance.
  2. Ensuring that our team members come to work healthy and that while at work, established cleaning and sanitation procedures, like handwashing, which are already in place, are not only met, but exceeded. Requiring team members exhibiting any symptoms of illness to stay home.
  3. Taking steps to support social distancing, by offering food to eat at home, via Fridays To Go or delivery. By the end of this week we will have curbside service for To Go orders, meaning guests can order, pay and receive their food without having to interact significantly with others.
  4. In areas where dining rooms remain open, we are creating more distance between our tables, and removing shared condiments in favor of individual servings. We are also making single-serve menus available.

We have a dedicated team of experts in place who are actively monitoring the rapidly changing situation. We are committed to adapting to changing conditions and will keep you informed with information and updates.

What is TGI Fridays response to the COVID-19 outbreak?

We continue to follow our existing industry-leading protocols, which prepare us for unforeseen events like COVID-19. In addition, we have expanded emergency leave benefits for employees impacted by this outbreak, increased sanitation of high-touch, high-traffic areas, introduced a tamper-evident sticker for mobile pick-up and delivery orders, and increased precautions in areas of the country where there have been emergencies declared due to COVID-19.

Should I be concerned about the safety of my meal from TGI Fridays?

According to FDA, there is currently no evidence to suggest that food produced in the United States can transmit COVID-19.

Do you have additional guest available protections against this virus in your restaurants?

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published a list of chemicals that have been validated to be effective against SARS-CoV-2, the specific coronavirus that causes COVID-19. This list includes hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. You can view the entire list of products on EPA’s website.
